Are You Kidding Me?

by Ashley Bolivar on December 2, 2009

I received an email the other day from Mike Dillard that left me awe struck. It was like something straight out of a sci-fi movie that plagues the entire country and you get to see it first hand as it happens.

Now I’m not one for watching the news on a daily basis and I certainly look at things from a “glass half full” point of view. Yet with the challenges that face many people today – lack of work, financial worries and the emotional drain that it is having on households everywhere – I’m left wondering what are many of today’s displaced workers going to do?

***Warning not for the faint of heart***

Map of the RecessionIsn’t it mind boggling?

I know all to well from past personal experience that being a displaced worker is never an enjoyable experience. The feeling that it gives a person, going from all the awards and accolades to feeling like last weeks trash thrown to the curbside, simply leaves a gaping hole in a person soul.

From the ashes we will rise…

At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about. Picking ourselves up from the ashes and dusting ourselves off.

Now it’s more critical than ever to have a relentless approach at everything that you do as if your very life depended on it.

If you currently have a job that is supporting your family and maintaining a life that you are happy with, then great. You need to pay close attention.

Many of the people that are affected today were in your shoes and now they are left wondering were their next payday is coming from.

You (the comfortable working one) need to have a plan “B” in place and need to do it while it’s not from a place of desperation.

If you are affected by the immoral values and greed that drove the world to this place, I’m sorry for your current situation and pray a speedy recovery for you and your family.

I understand that you need to do whatever it takes to put food on the table and shelter over your families head. As soon as you possibly can even if your feet are not completely stable on the ground, too need to find a plan “B” to hang your hat on and sink you teeth in to.

Especially as the sting of the rattlesnake is still fresh. Let the venom be you motivation to scream out and say, “no more” and “never again” will “I” ever have to endure such pain.

Keep pressing on and believing…

…I know that your success is around the corner.

Blessings,

Ashley Bolivar
