“Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail”. Ralph Waldo Emerson
“What makes the difference between an armature and a professional?”
“What makes the difference between a champion and a should have been?”
“What is it that you must do in order to have a successful network marketing business, to be a champion, a professional in this industry and in life?”
When you can put up with the noise of the crowds, when you can put up with the fans supporting you and the fans booing you.
When you can develop the skills to push you through the challenges that would hold an average person back. Setbacks happen, challenges happen. It’s the skill of an attitude that will drive a person through to great levels of success in life or that same attitude will hold you back.
To become a successful network marketer you must have a relentless attitude of NEVER giving up, NEVER wave the white flag. There is no retreat and there is no surrender.
That is why I’m a failure. I NEVER give up. Regardless of the drawbacks, setbacks, pushbacks or any back that comes my way.
As a leader in this incredible industry, people place their trust in my hands every day. They continue to believe in me to guide them on their journey, to be a beacon of light shining from a lighthouse bringing their ships safely in to harbor.
You can either decide to be that lighthouse and the beacon of light guiding their ships safely to harbor, or let your light fade away, abandoning your post, and leaving a sea cluttered with wondering ships seeking safety and shelter from a destructive storm.
This is bigger than me and you. This is about giving freely and openly as much value as possible to others who are on a journey to reach their goals. We all have dreams, hopes and desires. The only way to get there is by putting every one else first and never giving up on them.
“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
-Michael Jordan
I’m proud to be a failure many thousands of times over as a father, husband, son, network marketer and friend. And that is why I succeed.
It’s in the rubble of challenges that we face in life that professionals are born. The acquired skill of attitude is infectiously born from the setbacks of life.
Why sit there during those challenges without reflection of who you are. Will you be the same person once the dust settles or will you decide to make a decision to be a stronger more inspirational person living life with passion hunting down your goals and dreams?
Remember this, everything starts from within you. Stare yourself in the eyes and ask yourself, “Have I done all that I can?”
So will you live your life as an amateur leaving your best inside of you, or will you live your life as a professional casting out your insecurities and becoming an active contributor of this world?

Ashley,
Great Article. The quote from Michael Jordan is one of my favorite of all time. Jordan says he failed his way to success and that is the truth. Most people hit bumps in the road and let that deter them or even make them quit. Persistence is key in anything you do.
Thanks,
Eric McMillan
"Persistence is key in anything you do" – so very true. Too many people tend to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
Hi Ashley,
Many good points, How can you know you've succeeded if you haven't tasted the bitter dregs of temporary defeat? A setback forces a leader to grow, evolve until what was once difficult becomes commonplace. Then on to the next challenge.
A person will never know true success if they have never failed. A person who has never failed has also never tested their limits, stepped out of their comfort zone, so that while failures don't exist niether go great sucesses.
It doesn't really matter how many times you get knocked so long as you get up one more time.
Fail fast, find out what doesn't work so you can concentrate on what does.
Michael
Michael,
Very well said. The one sentence that stands out the most for me is –
"A setback forces a leader to grow, evolve until what was once difficult becomes commonplace."
Let's hope that as leaders we all see those setbacks quickly, embrace them and grow just as fast.
This is a great article – thank you. It is great to see such successful and competitive people talk about facing their failures as a key aspect to their success.

What a great article, I have really enjoyed reading through it, love Ralph Waldo Emersons quote at the beginning. A real inspiration.

It’s one inspirational article! It reminds me of Rudyard Kipling’s “If” and i’d like to quote here: If you can meet with triumph and disaster – And treat those two impostors just the same.
Most people hit bumps in the road and let that deter them or even make them quit. I have really enjoyed reading through it.
It is great to see such successful and competitive people talk about facing their failures as a key aspect to their success. I have really enjoyed reading through it.
I agree with you. No matter how you look at it to be successful you’ll need to work hard.
I agree with you. It is great to see such successful and competitive people talk about facing their failures as a key aspect to their success. I have really enjoyed reading through it, love Ralph Waldo Emersons quote at the beginning.
Most people know that learning from the mistakes we make on a regular basis is how we grow. the hard part is pushing through the bad times to achieve success. Without persistence all the new things you have learn won’t matter. Having the drive to achieve combine with the experience you get from your mistakes is the formula for success.
What a great article, I have really enjoyed reading through it, I have never failed until I became 20, then I just started failing at everything. I started college at 18 and lasted 2 years with a nearly perfect gpa, I started my own successful business that lasted two years, I had a wonderful relationship. But Now every thing Lost.. I learn lot of thing from your article.
Interesting blog!
Success is never a coincidence for it is the result of sacrifice and persistence to reach the golden end.
That quote from Michael Jordan is indeed enlightening, Ashley. Isn’t amazing how we’ve put him up so high on a pedestal, that most of us have actually overlooked — or chosen to overlook — those bit of errors and mistakes he’s made? The bottom line is that he’s great at what he does and he is able to win the game for his team.
Great article! Truly inspiring.
I really like the two quotes you have used, particularly the one from Jordan, really inspiring and completely encapsulate what you are trying to communicate
