We just finished a 7 part series titled, “The 7 essential pieces needed to build a successful network marketing business”.
Based on the response that I have received, it has help many people turn the corner and make a decision on how they want their business to look going forward.
Before we move on, I want to recap some of the highlights from each article. You can also click on any of the bold titles below to read the full version of each article just in case you missed any of them or want more details on what you can do to implement each of them.
Successful Network Marketing, Are You Employable?
You have to treat YOUR business – that you made an investment to start – as a business and not a hobby. Look at it this way; imagine yourself the President of multi-million dollar company and you decide to personally do an evaluation of every single one of your employees.
As you check off the list of employees names, you happen across your name. Mr. or Mrs. “YOU”. Now in all fairness to the process you decide to evaluate yourself WITHOUT prejudice.
A person in this business MUST make a real 100% commitment to build a successful network marketing business.
There is no “Just going to try it out for a few months” or “Just want to check it out and see how it works”.
Back when the Vikings would go off to invade and take over a new territory they would arrive, unload all their belonging, cargo and anything else they would need. Once they did this they would burn there ships to avoid even the thought of retreat to cross through their minds.
Are Your Skills Working For You?
I remember my first interview for the position. I FAILED miserably competing against two other colleagues of mine who by performance standards alone, I was much more qualified. I also felt that I was a better overall leader and trainer.
After I picked up my pride off of the floor – what was left of it – I went home that evening and took a long hard look at myself and asked one question.
“What can I start doing right now in order to make sure that I become the next VP?”
You need to look at developing the proper mindset to succeed in this business, or any business for that matter. Personal development and proper mindset is the one thing that – regardless of industry – is consistently needed in order to be successful.
It’s like ordering a salad at your favorite restaurant; it comes out nice, crisp, fresh and delicious.
But if the salad has been left out for a while, it turns brown, mushy and it would taste awful.
Point being if WE are not consistently looking to grow and improve our mindset, our shelf life expires and we rot.
Why Do You Take Things Personally?
The most important piece that I gain was in him sharing with me this. “Don’t ever take the rejection personally, it’s never about you. A prospect will move forward when they are ready, you just need to be there when they are ready.”
The network marketing industry has far too many people that give up because of the rejection, because they make a personal attachment to the outcome of every opportunity. They let every “no, not interested” pierce their heart as if it were their very own child being ripped away from them.
In order to be a successful network marketer, you have to be able to spot talent. Unfortunately unlike any major sports league, or job interview that you’ve been on, there is no scouting report or resume that someone submits to you.
It all comes down to your personal ability to look through the murky fog and decide if the person is talented enough to be in your organization. Once you understand the basic principle of sponsoring up, your network marketing business become that much easier grow.
You can either decide to be that lighthouse and the beacon of light guiding the ships safely to harbor, or let your light fade away abandoning your post and leaving a sea cluttered with wondering ships seeking a safety and shelter from a destructive storm.
“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
-Michael Jordan
I’m proud to be a failure many thousands of times over, as a father, husband, son, network marketer and friend. And that is why I succeed.
These excerpts are just a fraction of what each article holds. If you have not do so yet, go back and read each article and I guarantee you that you will have a solid understanding of what it takes to create a successful network marketing business.
