- “I’m no good at selling!” Have you ever heard someone say that, or perhaps said it yourself? We hear it all the time. Everyone who is not in sales thinks. “I could never sell.”
Truth is, most people who are in sales secretly think the same thing. -
The above is a small excerpt from Bob Burgs new book “Go – Givers Sell More”. I had the privilege of being sent a copy of the book from Bob prior to its release. If I were asked to sum it up in one word it would be, “Brilliant!”.
Bob Burg and John David Mann have done it again. If you are involved in any kind of sales, customer service or simply deal with another human being on a daily basis, this is a MUST read. And this is why.
I grew up exposed to sales ever since I was 13 years old. I can remember selling candy door to door as part of an after school program.
As I got older, the candy turned to consumer goods, cars, insurance and the list goes on and on. At each stop along the way, every sales manager would try to ingrain in me the latest and greatest lines or quick witted sayings to make a sale and get people to by.
I hated it with a passion. Yes I was one of those closet closers that hated sales. I despised feeling as though the only win, was one sided leaving an uncomfortable feeling for everyone involved in the process.
Fast forward many years, I learned that the ONLY real way to sell, was NOT to sell. The only real way to create a win-win for everyone involved was to give freely of myself and allow the sales process to happen naturally. I learned that I needed to become a “Go-Giver”. I know for many of you, this may sound completely foreign. While others are breathing a sigh of relief grasping to the hope that there is a better way.
There is a much better way to be a sales professional in ANY industry. None of this “My industry is different” stuff. Burg and Mann give you a fundamentally sound blueprint that anyone from any industry can use to turn your sales career and the way that your clients or customer view you from, pesky nag to raving fans.
There is one requirement. YOU must be willing and want your career to be different. If you have the desire, then this book will be your launching pad. As long as you apply the principles that are shared in this book.
Here’s what I recommend. Go to Amazon.com and purchase it, read it, apply the principles, live it and watch your career change and grow.
Disclaimer - If your looking for a magic bullet and a quick fix, sorry to disappoint you but there is no such thing. nothing will replace genuine effort and commitment at creating the life that you desire.
By now you probably have had a chance to get to know me and realize that I don’t promote a bunch of products, I don’t believe and pushing and peddling every new product launch out there. I do that because I value you as my friend and reader far too much.
When I do share something with you that I know will make you a better person, its because I’m personally a product of the product. This book is that good that I give it my highest recommendation.

Reading these kind of books will definitely help you to prioritize the important aspects of a sales call or anything about increasing your ability to get something across at all.
