- “I’m no good at selling!” Have you ever heard someone say that, or perhaps said it yourself? We hear it all the time. Everyone who is not in sales thinks. “I could never sell.”
Truth is, most people who are in sales secretly think the same thing. -
The above is a small excerpt from Bob Burgs new book “Go – Givers Sell More”. I had the privilege of being sent a copy of the book from Bob prior to its release. If I were asked to sum it up in one word it would be, “Brilliant!”.
Bob Burg and John David Mann have done it again. If you are involved in any kind of sales, customer service or simply deal with another human being on a daily basis, this is a MUST read. And this is why.

So, are you the next American Idol?
I have a confession to make. My wife loves American Idol and as the good supportive husband that I am, I torture myself and watch it with her.
Alright, so the confession is that I actually enjoy parts of it. However, could you imagine sitting there as one of the Judges?
I honestly don’t think I could handle sitting there all day long listening to so many bad singers. Now, I know that I have a voice for the shower or when I’m home alone and that’s it. But to be so blatantly bad and thinking that your the next big thing… Comon’ man… that is just crazy.
One thing that the judges have in common with you and me is that they absolutely must be good talent scouts.

Was it something that I said?
Maybe it was what I was wearing?
What did I do wrong?
Oh, the devastating feeling of being turned down and told, “No I’m just not interested” or “I don’t get involved in businesses like that”.
I think it’s worst than asking a person out on a date and getting turned down.
Have you ever experienced this in the past?
The being turned down on your business, not the date. If you’ve been in this industry for any length of time – a week or more – then chances are that you have.
